Some only want a hot meal and clothes this Thanksgiving.

‘Mission Thanksgiving’ was held Friday to collect donations for those in need.

Some people even brought entire flatbeds full of clothing.

“We are collecting donations for Love and Care Ministries,” coordinator Katherine Parker said.

She works at Arrow Ford in Abilene.

This is the 19th year Arrow Ford has hosted Mission Thanksgiving.

She said this is the biggest donation drive for Love & Care Ministries.

“The food will usually last about 3 to 4 months, depending on how much we get, the clothing will usually last about 8 months. So it’ll take us into 2018 really well,” founder Mark Hewitt said.

Last year, 11 semi-trailers were filled with clothes, food, sleeping bags, and other things.

With the donations they’ll be able to serve 400 hot meals from their kitchen every week.

This year the group also has a donation page for those who weren't able to make it out to the drive.
