The City of Abilene was approved for an 18 million dollar loan to get 'smart water meters.'A plan that got a lot of responses from our Facebook viewers over the weekend.
Some are all for it while others aren't. One says 'as a citizen I don't think it's at the top of the list.' Another says they hope this will make their bill drop.
The director of water utilities Rodney Taylor says this will help lots of issues caused in the past.
"This is the next step, a logical step for our utility to provide consumers with the type of immediate access to information that they expect today” says Taylor
He anticipates city council seeing this on their agenda early next year.
