Getting hooked on the outdoors

Neighborhood fishing program.

SAN ANGELO, TX — Texas Parks and Wildlife kicked off their Neighborhood Fishing Program this afternoon by stocking the Concho River with 600 12-inch channel catfish.

They will continue to do that throughout the next few months.

If you're 17 or older you do have to have a fishing license to fish but kids 16 and younger don't have to have a license.

Either way, Texas Parks and Wildlife wants you to get out and enjoy the fresh air.

Lynn Wright said, "The goal is to make it easy for people, for kids to come out here and go fishing and hopefully raise a new generation of anglers and people who love the outdoors.

There is a 5 fish per person per day limit but there are no size restrictions on these catfish.
