Abilene's City Council is discussing the possibility of bringing in another airline carrier during their next meeting on Thursday, Sept. 28.
The City will be discussing an air service development contract. Under this contract are tasks costing $64,800 a year.
City Manager Robert Hanna said now is a good time to look at expanding what's offered by the Abilene Regional Airport.
Hanna said, "We're hoping by partnering with this firm, we'll be able to go out and solicit and attract another carrier other than American Airlines."
The City Staff said the economic performance fo the airport has played a role in this discussion.
