The freshmen retention rate at Hardin-Simmons University has reached an all-time high during fall 2017, at 75.1 percent. This number has increased over 10 percent in four years.
HSU's Division of Student Life said they have focused on improving their "personnel, environments and programmatic."
Dr. Dave Rozeboom, vice president of student life said, “The retention rate is a result of an enriched university experience. We definitely want to recruit new students, but we also want to take care of the students we do have.”
The university's goal is to reach a retention rate of 80 percent.
