The Raising Cane’s in north Abilene had its grand opening Tuesday morning.

The fast food chain opened at 10 a.m.

As of Monday night, there were over 30 folks waiting in line.

The restaurant will give free chicken for an entire year to their first 20 customers.

The first person in line, John Patrick, said he had been there since 8 a.m. Monday.

“It means a lot…it’s going to be so good,” Patrick said.

The first 100 guests were set to get a free t-shirt and free combo box.

And commuters, beware of the extra traffic! Construction on I-20 continues and now there is added traffic because of Raising Cane’s.
