Flowers are left outside the Humboldt Uniplex ice-skating rink on April 7, 2018 in Saskatchewan after a bus carrying a junior ice hockey team collided with a semi-trailer truck near Tisdale and Nipawin, Saskatchewan province.

After remaining in critical condition since Friday's bus crash that killed 15 others, the athletic therapist for the Humboldt Broncos has died.

Dayna Brons, 25, "passed away peacefully this afternoon as a result of her injuries," her family announced Wednesday, five days after a bus carrying the team to a junior hockey playoff game in Saskatchewan was hit by a semi-trailer.

A family member told the Saskatoon Star-Phoenix Brons suffered serious trauma to her head in the crash and had undergone two surgeries.

“Dayna will be forever remembered for her joyful smile, and her passion and love of sport,” her family said in a statement, adding that she was “extremely proud to be part of the Broncos family.”

There was no other new information on the condition of the survivors. The Saskatchewan Health Authority said 12 of the 13 others injured remained hospitalized.

The National Hockey League has issued Humboldt Broncos stickers to all teams participating in the upcoming playoffs to wear on their helmets.

The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League voted Wednesday to continue with the league finals.
