Almost a week after Abilene police arrested one man accused of being responsible for three heroin overdose deaths, a second arrest was made on Monday in connection to the investigation.

Agents from the Abilene Police Department's Special Operation Division arrested 27-year-old John Anthony Carrion. During the investigation of the recent overdoses, information was developed that Carrion was involved in trafficking of heroin.

He was contacted on a traffic stop in the 800 block of South Wills. A search warrant was then executed on his residence in 1300 block of Jeanette St. Carrion was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, and driving while license invalid.

According to jail records Carrion has been released from the Taylor County Jail on bond.
