It was a busy week and weekend for Border Patrol.
Drug and human smuggling is still an ongoing issue on the Texas-Mexico border.
In Falfurrias, agents rescued five illegal immigrants from a locked tractor-trailer. The semi was pulling the refrigerated trailer through a checkpoint. Then, a K9 alerted on the trailer. The immigrants were hidden by boxes of watermelons and couldn't escape the cold temperatures.
In Hidalgo, agents seized cocaine and methamphetamine worth over $950,000. The drugs coming from Guadalajara and Monterrey, Mexico.
Now to Kingsville, where agents seized over $1 million in cocaine. The drugs found hidden in a restroom of a commercial bus full of passengers. The drugs weighed a total of 44 pounds and had a street value of $1.4 million.
