The start of a new year usually comes with lots of resolutions.

But, brain research states the 40 percent of Americans who resolve to change their ways, only 9 percent do.

However it's not impossible.

A personal trainer at Abilene's Icon Fitness says it's all about what you focus on.

He tells us, keeping a realistic goal will help you stick to your plan.

"Keep the general attitude of self-betterment. You're not trying to better than others, you're trying to be better than you once were." says personal trainer Corey Armstrong.

He says making a list of fitness goals will also help you stick to them.
