Several counties have deployed a total of 20 TxDOT workers to San Antonio to help clean up and repair after Hurricane Harvey hits, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

Crew members from Taylor, Mitchell, Nolan, Jones and Haskell Counties, along with the Special Jobs, radio and signal crews, left for the staging facility in San Antonio Aug. 25. With them they have front end loaders, dump trucks, sign trucks, and other equipment necessary for clean up after the storm.

Once the storm passes, these crew members will be dispatch along U.S. highway 281 from Three Rivers to Falfurrias to aid in clean up, debris removal, traffic signal and sign repair, radio communications and other jobs needed.

It's estimated that crews will be deployed for at least five days, depending on the severity of the storm response needed.
