The Texas Department of Transportation's Abilene District will host a public meeting on Tuesday, June 27 to share information about an upcoming construction project that will improve the intersection of Southwest Drive and S. Clack St. in Abilene.

The meeting will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the New Hope Church at 3122 S. Clack Street. It will be an open house format meeting, so citizens may come and go at their convenience, and staff will be available to answer questions.

The $2 million project is expected to begin in late July and should take approximately three months to complete. The project will restore the roadway’s surface at this intersection, replacing the current pavement with concrete to provide a smoother, more durable driving surface.

Motorists should expect brief delays and detours during construction.
