A United Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing in Texas

After smoke was detected inside the plane the flight was en route from Houston to Boise, Idaho.

Shortly after takeoff a smoke detector went off and flight attendants saw smoke in the plane's cabin.

Passenger Troy Schrenk says "We knew when he said we were diverting to College Station this was a significant issue. Very quiet, I looked at my wife, she looked over at me and I said, you know, 'This isn't good. This is, uh, this is major.”

Pilots landed at Easterwood airport in College Station but passengers say the crew remained silent throughout the emergency landing.
