U.S. citizenship classes are being offered for free at a North Abilene Church.

The San Angelo Dioceses is organizing the classes and are offered in English and Spanish.

They are accredited by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

The classes started Thursday evening and will continue on a weekly basis through the rest of school year from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The church can also help with legal services like filling out applications and revising peoples' case for up to $125.

It some cases the legal service can also be for free.

Nelly Diaz, organizer with the San Angelo Diocese said, " If you need to see what our credentials are, they are in the internet. You can go into immigration and our names are in there that we can do the legal work for these people who are needing immigration paperwork [done]."

Saint Vincent Palotti Catholic Church is located at 2525 Westview St.

Diaz also says the help people from 30 different nations in the Big Country and Concho Valley.
