White-tailed deer were the main topic discussed at a Taylor County Summit, which was their first meeting about deer.

They said it's important for land owners and hunters know how to manage them.

Assistant County Extension Agent Thomas Cunningham said, "It's very important to manage the population that we do have and it's very helpful to educate our landowners, but just hunters in general."

They also said Taylor County can count on the summit now becoming a yearly event.
