Abilene Police Say Not Enough Evidence in Murder Case

Abilene Police address murder investigation.

ABILENE, TX - In a media press conference, Abilene Police said there is not enough evidence to make an arrest in the murder of 54-year-old Tom Niblo.

The former real estate agent was murdered in his home in December.

Sgt. Will Ford said this case has been complex from the beginning because Niblo was a prominent person in the community.

Ford said this makes the case unique and there is not enough evidence to arrest anyone in the case.

Ford also addressed Luke Sweetser’s attorney, saying that all information the media has obtained was legal.

Ford went on to criticize the media for utilizing this information, saying it caused a “hindrance” in the case.

In the conference Ford also said all seized items will remain in position of the police.

Ford wrapped up the press conference by saying no information would be released that could compromise the case.
