Abilene's Red Cross is prepared to head south

The Abilene Red Cross is prepared to head south to help after Hurricane Harvey hits.

ABILENE, TX - Abilene Red Cross volunteers have loaded up their truck in preparation to lend a helping hand in a state of disaster for many. 

About 20 Big Country volunteers could be sent to the impacted areas this weekend. 

Red Cross Disaster Program Manager Nate Lester said, "Right now we've got our emergency response vehicle you see behind me ready to go. About 15 to 20 volunteers as of right now."
