AFD Battalion Chief Joey Kincaid deployed to Corpus Christi

ABILENE, TX - Hurricane Harvey will hit the coast later tonight and Abilene Fire Department's Battalion Chief Joey Kincaid has been deployed to Corpus Christi to help.

The State of Texas is mobilizing several resources in advance of the storm. Kincaid has already deployed to Corpus Christi to act as a Unit Resource Leader with an Incident Management Team (IMT).

Firefighter Danny Moore is also scheduled to respond to Pierce, Texas to assist with the IMT located there.

Due to the amount of expected rain later tonight and tomorrow, there is a threat of devastating flooding, according to the Abilene Fire Department.

If someone is caught in a flood, the organization 2-1-1 Texas A Call for Help has a call center set up to answer calls from possible victims. These volunteers man the phones and help people located a shelter closest to them.

The phone center has not been activated yet, but firefighters have volunteered to answer phone calls in the past.

FOX 15 will update this article when more information comes available about the call center.
