Local law enforcement began operation ‘methodical’ in January of 2016.

On Thursday, 57 search warrants were served.

Brownwood Police Chief Terry Nichols said they found several of the people are connected to the Mexican drug cartel.

“These are people that are actually selling narcotics in our community. These are the ones that are putting illegal drugs in our kid’s hands, in our citizens, our neighbors hands,” Nichols said.

Getting the names of dozens of suspected drug dealers was a group effort.

Over 10 agencies played a role in the investigation.
