Exceptional kids doing exceptional things

The Exceptional Rodeo showcases kids instead of their disabilities.

CLYDE, TX - Bull riding, calf roping and goat chasing, the Big Country's most exceptional kids showed the cowboys how it’s done Friday.

The Exceptional Rodeo showcases children with disabilities and shows them they are nothing less than the best.

Tagen, a volunteer and Special Olympics athlete participated this year for this first time, and had just one thing to say.
“It's been fun being a cowboy."

The rodeo was put on by the Cowboy Heritage Church, they have done the event for several years.

One volunteer said this rodeo means so much to these kids.

“In a lot of instances, it can help them throughout life, it gives them a sense to not show that they have a disability."

Some of the kids even gave the pros a run for their money.

And if you ask these kids, they won’t say anything about their disabilities, they'll just say how much fun they had.

“I rided a horse and I did a lot of cool things."

The Exceptional Rodeo only happens once a year, but it's something these kids will remember for their entire lives.
