ABILENE, TX - The Abilene Zoo is opening it's gates for free to those who evacuated from devastated areas. The zoo is offering free admission to Harvey victims until further notice.
Executive Director Bill Gersonde said, "The zoo is a place that people can relax whether it's looking at the animals, looking at plants, having a hot dog and soda in a shady spot, it's an escape and we're happy to provide that."
Gersonde said for those who plan to come need to bring an ID.
Tonight is also the last night of the sunset safari and he hopes those struggling can come out and enjoy some free fun.
