Aggravated robbery investigation results in 6 arrests

ABILENE, TX - An investigation stemming from an aggravated robbery that occurred on Oct. 4, lead law enforcement to arrest two female and four male suspects. 

Several men reported they were robbed at gunpoint by unknown males at a south Abilene business in early October. 

Jamar Sims, 26, Michael Darius Payne, 31, Douglas Sims, 45, Chazsman Small, 35, Shyla McKelvie, 25 and Megan Stewart, 22, were taken into custody after a morning bust operation. 


Jamar was charged with first degree felony aggravated assault, Payne was charged with first degree felony aggravated assault, Douglas was charged with third degree felony possession of a firearm by a felon, Small was charged with a first degree felony aggravated robbery, McKelvie was charged with a class B possession of marijuana and Stewart was charged with a class B possession of marijuana. 

Police from various divisions executed four separate search warrants simultaneously at four different locations in the Alameda addition of south Abilene. 

Police seized numerous firearms along with several pieces of evidence. 

Police said the investigation continues with more arrests and charges are expected.
