Jones County marijuana case sparks controversy

A woman was arrest when she had 0.002 ounces of marijuana on her back in 2012. This case has raised questions for local attorneys.

JONES COUNTY, TX - A woman in Jones County was arrested and charged with possessing a usable quantity of marijuana back in 2012. Now that her trail approaches, local attorneys are using this case to answer the question, "what is a reasonable amount of marijuana to be arrested for?".

In the Jones County case, the woman had exactly 0.002 ounces of marijuana in her possession. She was charged with possessing a usable quantity of marijuana in an amount of two ounces or less. 

Her trial starts Monday, Sept. 25, 2017.
