Jury selection starts for Abilene capital murder case

Amber Craker, 20, is accused of killing her baby. The Taylor County District Clerks Office sent out 600 jury summons and 90 potential jurors will be screened to create a jury panel of 12.

ABILENE, TX - Jury selection starts Monday, Sept. 25 for the capital murder case of an Abilene mom killing her daughter. The Taylor County District Office sent out 600 jury summons in early September. Out of those summons, 90 potential jurors will be screened to create a jury panel of 12. 

Amber Craker, 20, is accused of killing her baby. Court documents show the baby died due to a severe laceration to the throat. Craker allegedly hid the baby's corpse in the trash can. 

Craker is charged with capital murder and more. Craker's trial is set to start Oct. 2.
