Wesley Dale Mason Indicted for Murder

A Jones County Grand Jury returned a true bill of indictment against Wesley Dale Mason for the murder of Dustin Childress.

JONES COUNTY, TX - UPDATE (5/18): On May 18, a Jones County Grand Jury returned a true bill of indictment against Wesley Dale Mason for the murder of Dustin Childress, according to the Jones County District Attorney's Office.

Mason faces five to 99 years to life in prison and a fine of up to $10,000 if he is found guilty.

UPDATE (5/8): The bond reduction for Wesley Dale Mason was denied, according to Jones County court documents.

A Jones County judge denied the request to reduce the bond set at $500,000 on May 5.

ORIGINAL STORY: 

A man accused of murdering someone in March has requested a bond reduction.

Wesley Mason, 42, was charged with murder in March. Police say he shot a man to death in Jones County.

He went before a judge to request a bond reduction.

It’s currently set at $500,000.

Staff say the judge hasn’t yet made a decision.
