The Salvation Army experiences influx of people during rainy weather

With the constant rain, The Salvation Army is prepared to take in as many people needed.

ABILENE, TX - The Salvation Army has seen an influx of homeless people since the heavy, consistent rain.

The Salvation Army said anyone who is in need of a roof over their head is welcome during the rainy weather. Their staff is prepared to bring in as many people as they can.

Public Relations Director Shelley Futrelle said, "I've seen some [people] under awnings. We would rather them not be in that situation, we would rather them come here. We know it's safe here and they can get something to eat."

The shelter provides three meals a day at no cost and donations are always appreciated.
