Saying goodbye to Elise Ybarra through social media

Strangers and friends remember fallen officer Elise Ybarra.

ABILENE, TX - The City of Abilene said goodbye to a fallen hero today Friday morning. And since Detective Elise Ybarra's death there has been an outpouring of support for the Abilene Police Department and her family.

Social media has been buzzing with her name and pictures of the young hero that was taken too soon.

Love and support pages have been created in Ybarra’s name. Prayers, fond memories and pictures have been shared by thousands from all over the country.

Former Dallas Police Chief David Brown even had some kinds word to share on his twitter page.

Many of the pictures and comments show and talk about how kind and strong Elise Ybarra was.
Some said how they were blessed to have known her and will miss her.

Strangers and family became one to show support and love for Elise Ybarra and her family.

Abilene Police Chief Stan Standridge said APD lost a true hero in Detective Elise Ybarra and she will be greatly missed.
