Update on Sunday night's car crash on I-20

ABILENE, TX - On Sunday, Clyde police were working on an accident that involved a truck tractor semi-trailer that caused the eastbound side of Interstate Highway 20 to slow down. 

At this time, traffic was being moved to the right hand lane. At approximately 6:03 p.m., traffic slowed to an almost standstill. A second crash that involved a white Chevrolet truck failed to control speed and crashed into an Abilene Police Department unmarked car. 

The unmarked car was driven by Elise Ybarra who died due to injuries sustained in the crash at the scene. Ybarra was accompanied by officer Christopher Kyle Milliron, 32, and officer Robert Lamar Collins, 36.

The driver of the Chevrolet has been identified as 71-year-old Sherry Drake Burleson of Clyde. She was transported to Hendrick Medical Center. 

"A third vehicle was identified as also involved, a Buik Enclave, driven by Randall Travis McLearen, 53, was not injured," Texas Department of Transportation Officer John Gonzalez. 

So far, no charges have been filed. 

The crash remains under investigation.
