Suspected drug dealer arrested in possible connection to heroine overdose deaths

A man accused of being connected to overdose deaths sat down with Fox 15.

ABILENE, TX - The Abilene Police Department Special Operations Division with the assistance of Street Crimes, executed a search warrant on October 11, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. at a home located in the 7900 block of Bonnie Circle in south Abilene. Agents arrested 36 year old Michael Thompson for Possession of Heroin.

On Friday, October 6, 2017, APD distributed critical information to the public on the deaths of three individuals who possibly passed away from drug overdoses, and a fourth victim who was hospitalized. An investigation led police to identify a possible suspect related to the investigation. A search warrant for Thompson’s home was executed late Wednesday which led to his arrest. Thompson was eventually taken into custody and is currently at the Taylor County Jail. He is charged with State Jail Felony Possession of Heroin with a bond of $150,000.

No other arrests have been made but the investigation is ongoing and more charges could be forthcoming.
