NOLAN COUNTY, TX - On Sept. 25, 2017 a 61-year-old woman died in a one car accident on State Highway 70. The crash is still being investigated.
Cheryl Gibson Buckley of Vidor was pronounced dead on the scene after her truck had struck a guardrail and rolled over. According to The Texas Department of Public Safety, Buckley was traveling 75 mph, north bound when she entered a left curve "at a speed too fast for the road conditions."
The report states that Buckley was wearing her seatbelt and was driving in rainy, wet conditions.
"The vehicle went into a left, then right skid and struck a guardrail on the east side of the road. The vehicle rolled over and came to rest on its top and in the middle of the roadway," according to DPS.
Buckley's body was been taken to McCoy's Funeral Home in Sweetwater.
