Today will be much like yesterday with early morning clouds clearing for some intense heat in the afternoon. We can expect highs in the upper 90s with some spots crossing that 100 degree mark by 5 PM. Skies will stay clear tonight and overnight lows will hover in the lower 70s.
Tomorrow is likely going to be the hottest day of the week with most of the region soaring into the 100s. Fortunately, an approaching cold front will advance as Tropical Storm Cindy heads towards the Carolinas, and that southwest high pressure breaks down.
Not only will temperatures be 20 + degrees cooler this weekend, but we have a decent shot of rain starting Friday night and continuing all weekend long.
The severe weather threat is low, but a rumble of thunder and lightning are likely to be present.
