As teachers continue to fight for fairer pay and better school supplies, one Oklahoma teacher accidently received an outpouring of support.

Art teacher Laurissa Kovacs posted a picture on her Facebook page of a very dilapidated chair, writing that this was just one of the many ways her classroom was underserved and underfunded. She even wrote that "I literally don't have enough chairs for all 32 of my students... I’m having to bring in a couple of folding chairs I have here at home." Laurissa then posted a link of an Amazon supply wishlist of things for her students in the classroom.

Laurissa, posting this during the heated moments of the Oklahoma teacher walk-out movements, got instant support with over 89,000 shares on her Facebook post and received over $42,000 for classroom supplies.

"I am completely overwhelmed by the support...I'm so grateful for how much attention this has brought to this serious issue."

Laurissa hopes that she can help her students by providing a classroom that "allows them to focus on my lesson" and hope for their school as a whole.
