Band students from all over Texas were at McMurry University to fine tune their skills.
The camp was about much more than getting ready for Friday nights this fall.
Middle school and high school band students marched over for the camp that's been around since the 1950's.
An Eastland trombone player said his town may be small, but the band keeps on growing.
"You get to make all these friends and you get to go to competitions and make friends from other towns. We have
almost 100 people next year, and our band just-it just keeps growing,” sophomore Heath Slavens said.
The camp will end with a concert that's open and free to the public on Friday at 11 a.m.
