ABILENE — Abilene's Sears store, located in the Mall of Abilene, is among the 80 stores slated for closure in March 2019.
As part of Sears Holdings' processes to accelerate its strategic transformation and facilitate its financial restructuring, on Dec. 27, 2018, the company informed associates at 80 stores that we will be closing these Sears and Kmart stores in late March 2019.
The statement issued by Sears Holdings said that liquidation sales at these stores are expected to begin in two weeks. Sears Auto Center at the locations will also be closing.
The new set of closures announced are in addition to the previously announced closures of 40 unprofitable stores expected to be completed in February 2019.
