ABILENE, Texas — A 19-year-old Abilene man has been charged with possession and distribution of child pornography after being arrested by Abilene Police Thursday.

According to the Abilene Police Department, on Thursday, detectives from the department's Cyber Crimes Unit arrested Casey Martin Jones, 19, and charged him with possession and distribution of child pornography.

Officers were assisted by McMurry University staff as detectives executed a search and arrest warrant on campus. Detectives discovered Casey had been distributing child pornography through social media applications such as Snapchat, KiK and Dropbox.

According to police records, the warrant was served at 7:45 a.m. Thursday. Abilene police seized an Apple computer, an HP computer and a cell phone from Jones' dorm room.

The records say that APD received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) that a person using a Gmail email account "with the username of 'Casey Jones' had uploaded a number of images and videos, that were consistent with child exploitation material to a Dropbox account."

According to police, one of the items in the Dropbox was a 36-minute, 36-second video of a man and a young boy who appeared to be 13 or 14 years old. The man appears to be sexually assaulting the teenager throughout the video.

Among that video are 18 other video files and 23 image files.

Jones is currently at the Taylor County Jail on bonds totaling $22,500.
