De Leon, TX — De Leon coach Reggie Patrick accepted a co-offensive coordinator role at China Spring. Patrick has worked with the De Leon football team as an offensive coordinator for the past three seasons. He has also served as the head coach of the baseball team.
Over the past three years while Patrick coached football, the Bearcats have seen massive improvements on offense. The team scored 45 points per game last season en route to an undefeated regular season and an appearance in the Class 2A D1 Regional Semifinal.
Under Patrick's watch, the baseball team went 66-20 over the past three years. That includes back to back regional quarterfinal victories. Patrick said he won't be coaching baseball at China Spring yet.
"The past 3 years have been the best 3 years of my coaching career. I have been extremely blessed to be able to coach these athletes here in De Leon. They have dedicated their time and talents to me for 3 seasons and I hope that they learned as much from me as I did from them." Reggie Patrick said.
"We're very fortunate to have had Coach Patrick for the past three years. We hope the best for him and his family and we're going to miss him." Head football coach David Yeager said.
