The Hermleigh Lady Cardinals are used to being the top of the food chain.
They've won a lot of games the past three years and this year is no exception.
They're currently ranked as the 16th best team in state 1A Girls basketball.
That means every week they play with a target on their back...
Which causes a lot of pressure but these girls wouldn't want it any other way...
Head coach Duane Hopper said: “Everyone's going to give us their best shot. They know who the Hermleigh Lady Cardinals are by now. And if they don't, we're going to make sure they do know who we are.”
Brishaya Sneed, senior guard, said: “We go into every game just thinking we have to be 1-0 that day. And we have to be the best team for 32 minutes.”
Now the Lady Cardinals are on a roll to start the New Year.
They've won eight games in a row.
