The Abilene Police Department arrested 17-year-old Shawnocey Droemer for an aggravated robbery that occurred on Sunday, Oct. 15 around 3:30 p.m.

The robbery took place in the alley of 1400 Kirkwood. Police were called about in injured suspect who was identified as a 15-year-old. The victim sustained a single gunshot wound to the chest. Emergency technicians worked on the victim at the scene and then transported the victim to Hendrick Medical Center.

According to an APD press release, the victim is expected to survive.

After investigating, police understand " altercation arose in the alley where the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the chest and fled the scene with money and the victim's cell phone," according to the press release.

Droemer was arrested and taken to the Taylor County Jail. He was charged with a first degree felony for aggravated robbery and has a $100,000 bond.
