October 4th marked day three in the capital murder trial for Amber Craker (20), who allegedly murdered her newborn daughter, Ashley.

The prosecution and defense rested their cases Wednesday.

The closing arguments are scheduled to take place on October 5th, at 9am.

An Abilene Police detective said Craker's boyfriend, Damian Cate (24), along with her parents were likely present for the birth of Ashley Craker.

An employee with the Abilene Independent School District gave a testimony, saying Craker had an emotional disability.

She added that this disability later improved.

A DNA analyst confirmed that DNA from Ashley was on a knife blade along with Craker's DNA.

The same analyst said Cate's DNA was on a pair of scissors.
