The Spirit Ride is coming through Abilene tomorrow. This memorial is in honor of all the first responders and tow operators killed by passing vehicles while working roadside.

During this ceremony, a colorful casket will be towed around symbolizing the message, "Slow Down, Move Over." This casket's named Spirit and was custom painted by artist, Cecil Burrowes, who is specialized in paintings on trucks and wreckers. On Spirit are an array of painted scenarios of first-responders at highway accidents.

One scenario shows a first-responder carrying the world on his back while a car speeds by.

The casket was built by lifelong singer-songwriter, Mike Corbin, who wrote the Spirit Ride's anthem, "Booms in the Sky."

All persons are invited to attend.
