Senior Cole Wilkerson signed on the dotted line to continue playing football at Hardin-Simmons.

Now the former quarterback and safety was a state honorable mention as a defensive back this past season and he'll be back in the secondary as a Cowboy next year.

And he also chose to stay close to home.
Having a close football team is very important to him so when he saw how close the cowboys are it was a no brainer.

“Burleson had faith in me.” Wilkerson said. “Like, he was talking to me at the beginning of the year and telling me he had faith in me. They're a big family. When I went on my tour, that's what they preached that they're a family. That's what I want to be a part of. Super stoked about it.”Wilkerson will have some familiar faces in his new family.
He used to play peewee ball with Abilene High receiver Raekwon Millsap, who also signed with HSU.
