It was a special day in the Albany community because one of their own will play football at the college level.

Senior Dax Neece officially signed with Texas Tech and he will be a preferred walk on wide receiver.

Last season he logged over 1100 yards and 23 touchdowns.

He definitely used his size to create mismatches on most defenders.

Neece is hoping to do some similar stuff over in Lubbock next fall.

“They just treat all the players really well and they treat them all the same way.” Dax Neece said. “I like the coaching staff and just everything about it seemed like the right place. I just want to make sure I always work hard and do my best and do whatever I can to help the team.”

Now that receiver room will have a couple of faces from the Big Country.

Neece will join Cooper grad Myller Royals out in Lubbock.
