ABILENE, Texas — The Abilene Police Department announced Thursday afternoon that APD detectives have arrested two adult males and charged them with state jail felony animal cruelty.
Jaden Blake, 18, and Kallan Christopher, 17, were both arrested Thursday morning. A 16-year-old male juvenile was taken into custody Tuesday and transported to the Juvenile Detention Center.
The three suspects are accused of animal cruelty after a video surfaced on social media, depicting them lighting a fowl on fire on a rural county road and watching it burn to death, a release from the APD said. The animal appeared to have been doused with some type of accelerant.
Detectives became aware of the incident on Jan. 22, and immediately began an investigation.
