Wylie ISD is making waves with their newest addition to the school. The school broke ground on a brand new performing arts center in October and is expected to be completed by December of 2017.

After 10 years of talks the massive structure was finally decided on after a 77 percent pass on the 15 million dollar bond.

Wylie Superintendent Joey Light said he is more than happy to be bringing art back into Texas and his school. He said, "Fine arts are a vital part of any curriculum and we just feel like right now is a great opportunity for us as we continue to grow and we have more needs for our students and it's a great way to meet those needs."

The Wylie Performing Arts Center will house a 1000 seat auditorium, choir room, theater room as well as many other artistic avenues for the students.
