Our wet weather is bringing more than just rain, it’s also creating slick roads.

Tom Ceniglis is the owner of Tom’s Tire Pros.

He sees crashes due to slick roads often.

“Every time it rains, there’s one or two wrecks right here on this highway,” Ceniglis said.

Several cars crashed on a rainy day last Tuesday according to Abilene Police.

Ceniglis said what you do behind the wheel makes all the difference.

“It’s really important to slow down and give yourself plenty of cushion from the other cars around you, from any barriers. Give yourself an out,” Ceniglis added.

He said that rushing on slick roads can lead to a crash.

“The oil that’s built up on the road, road film, dust. When it starts raining those all come to the top,” Ceniglis said.
