Mayoral Runoff Election Day Set

The City of Abilene has officially set the runoff election for mayor for Saturday, June 17.

Early voting will run from Monday, June 5 until Friday, June 9.

The deadline to register to vote in the runoff election — if you are not currently registered — is Thursday, May 18 by 5 p.m. That is also the last day for a registered voter to update their residence address for this election.

The deadline to request a ballot by mail is Tuesday, June 6. To be eligible to vote by mail, a voter must be 65-years-old or older, disabled or absent from the country during the early voting period AND election day.

The voter is responsible for contacting the elections office and letting them know of their need to vote by mail. The request must be in writing and must be received in the elections office no later than 5 p.m. on June 6. After Monday, June 5, in order to be received on time, the request must be faxed to (325) 674-1340 or emailed to vote@taylorcountytexas.org.
